Michelle Williams is grieving the loss of her father, Dennis Williams, who died at the age of 68. She shared heartfelt memories and reflections on his 15-year health battle on social media.

Michelle Williams, the well-known singer, is in mourning following the death of her father, Dennis Williams, who passed away this past weekend at the age of 68.

In a poignant message shared on Instagram, Michelle expressed her difficulty in finding the right words to convey her feelings. She wrote, "Daddy, you fought harder than those of us that are in good health! For 15 years, you FOUGHT!!! You truly outlived moments where we thought you wouldn’t make it!!"

Dennis Williams had suffered a stroke 15 years ago, which led to ongoing health challenges, including diabetes. His struggles with health inspired Michelle to become an ambassador for the American Heart Association’s "Power to End Stroke" campaign.

In her emotional post, Michelle reflected on her father's final moments, stating, "Mommy said last night she sang songs to you and you looked so content and had a look of peace in your eyes. You weren’t in any pain either!! The Lord took you in his arms this morning and I’m so thankful that you are resting in Him!!! I love you Daddy!!!! Nov 13, 1952-Dec 20, 2020."

Tina Lawson, the mother of fellow Destiny’s Child member Beyoncé, extended her condolences to Michelle. Lawson stated, "My Belle, I am so sorry !!! Your dad was a true warrior. Yes He is resting now and is with your beloved granny. I am so glad we had the time together in Hawaii, and that we talked for an hour last night we love you so much."

In addition to her personal loss, Michelle Williams is preparing to release a memoir titled "Checking In: How Getting Real About Depression Saved My Life—and Can Save Yours," which is set to be published in May 2021. In this book, she plans to discuss her own struggles with depression and anxiety.

Michelle emphasized the importance of mental health, stating in an exclusive interview with ESSENCE, "We have to check in. We have to check in with ourselves. We have to check in with others and we have to check in with God."

The community extends its deepest sympathies to Michelle Williams and her family during this difficult time.
