Rick Ross Addresses Critics Over Viral Video of Commercial Flight
Rick Ross responds to social media backlash after being seen boarding a Frontier Airlines flight, explaining his private jet is undergoing upgrades.
Rick Ross has publicly responded to critics on social media following the release of a viral video that showed the rapper, known as the "Biggest Boss," boarding a commercial Frontier Airlines flight. The video sparked widespread discussion about his luxurious lifestyle and the status of his customized private jet.
In a bid to clarify the situation, Ross took to his Instagram Stories, where he informed his followers that his private aircraft is temporarily out of service for significant upgrades. He specifically mentioned that his jet is being fitted with a high-end satellite internet system, which he referred to as being equipped with StarLink. Ross stated, "For the ones who want to know where my jet at, obviously didn’t get the memo it’s being updated with StarLink."
The rapper described the satellite service as a substantial investment, labeling it as "half-a-million dollar wi-fi." He expressed that he opted for commercial travel to attend a celebration in Colombia alongside fellow artists Trick Daddy and Ball Greezy, emphasizing that his choice was based on logistics rather than a decline in status.
Ross remained unapologetic in his remarks, suggesting that his decision to fly commercially often relates to family priorities. He mentioned that if he needed to send his private jet to pick up his mother, he would willingly fly in economy class himself to ensure her comfort.
The recent history of Ross's private aviation has not been without incident. In 2024, his jet was involved in a crash landing in Dallas, an event Ross humorously attributed to interference from rapper Drake during their lyrical rivalry. Despite this setback, Ross insisted he had an "amazing time" on his recent travels and advised his critics to focus on their own lives.
As a closing remark, Ross hinted at the possibility of expanding his presence at his home base. He suggested that since his commercial travel has become a topic of conversation, he might consider purchasing an entire wing at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport to better accommodate his travel needs. Ross continues to promote his brand, recently rebranding himself with the acronym BOAT, which stands for "Biggest of All Time."
