Lil Wayne Prevails in Court Against Security Guard's Assault Claims
Lil Wayne has achieved a legal victory in a case involving a security guard who accused him of assault. The court ruled in favor of the rapper, awarding him over $29,000.
In December 2021, an incident at a Hidden Hills residence allegedly involving Lil Wayne has resulted in a legal dispute that has now concluded in the rapper's favor. Christian Carlos, a security guard, filed a lawsuit against Lil Wayne in 2023, claiming that the rapper punched him in the ear and threatened him with a semiautomatic rifle. Reports indicate that the conflict arose after Carlos was reportedly caught taking unauthorized photographs of Wayne, which allegedly angered the artist.
According to information from Rolling Stone, Carlos sought damages for medical expenses and lost income related to the event. In court documents, he described experiencing significant emotional distress, which required him to seek mental health treatment for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) directly linked to the incident.
Recently, it was reported by Rolling Stone that the court has ruled in favor of Lil Wayne, awarding him $29,225. Furthermore, the court determined that Carlos and his attorney would be liable for Wayne's legal fees due to their failure to comply with court orders. The lawsuit was subsequently dismissed.
The judge stated, "The court is granting terminating sanctions because plaintiff willfully refused to comply with three discovery orders over nearly ten months, made affirmative misrepresentations to the court about compliance, and has still provided no responses as of April 21, 2026." Additionally, Ashlee Difuntorum, a member of Wayne's legal team, noted that Carlos did not provide essential information and documentation regarding the alleged incident and his claimed injuries.
The total cost of Lil Wayne's legal representation remains undetermined, as Difuntorum mentioned they are still assessing the final amount. She expressed satisfaction with the court's decision, stating, "We’re pleased with the outcome and grateful the court held plaintiff accountable for his conduct."
