Jennifer Aniston has expressed her condolences following the passing of James Burrows, a prominent television director and producer.
Burrows passed away on June 19 at the age of 85. He was renowned for his work as the co-creator of the beloved series Cheers and for directing every episode of Will & Grace during its original run. His extensive career also included directing episodes of notable shows such as Friends, Frasier, and Taxi, accumulating over 1,000 directing credits throughout his lifetime.
In response to the news of Burrows' death, Aniston, 57, took to Instagram on June 20 to share her heartfelt tribute to the late director.
In her tribute, Aniston reflected on Burrows' impact, stating, "Oh boy… Papa Burrows. The hardest thing about writing this is that you spent a lifetime making people feel loved, and now it feels impossible to put all of that love into a few paragraphs." She recounted how he referred to the cast as his 'kids' and noted his nurturing nature, saying, "He always checked in on me. He worried about me, celebrated me, taught me, guided me, and held me through the hardest times and the best of times."
Aniston emphasized Burrows' role as a father figure, describing him as someone who spoiled the cast and instilled in them the importance of love, respect, and support for one another. She concluded her tribute with a poignant message, expressing her longing for him: "I miss your voice. I miss your laugh. I miss your brilliance. Wherever you are, I hope someone is asking, 'Where are the kids?'"
Alongside her touching message, Aniston shared several photographs of Burrows taken over the years, capturing memories of their time together.
