Jason Cohen, known for his roles in reality shows like 'Vanderpump Rules' and 'Dated and Related,' has embraced a new challenge in the competitive beach volleyball series 'Perfect Set.' In a recent interview, he expressed how this experience diverges from his previous reality TV endeavors, emphasizing the physical demands and authenticity it brings to his character.

Cohen described his athletic mindset, noting, 'I’m not a pro at volleyball but I could say I’m athletic... Wrestling is a sport where you’re never really giving up, and volleyball has a fast pace.' He highlighted that while he cannot directly compare his experience on 'Vanderpump' to 'Perfect Set,' the latter allowed him to reveal a more genuine aspect of himself under high-stakes conditions.

In 'Perfect Set,' Cohen competes alongside his cousin, Nathan Webb. When asked about potential conflicts of family loyalty during competition, he stated, 'We didn’t get to compete against each other on the court, but if we did, I definitely wouldn’t let that get in the way.' This competitive spirit reflects Cohen's drive to succeed, even within familial relationships.

Cohen has expressed interest in directing and filmmaking. However, he clarified that his experience in storytelling doesn’t significantly alter his approach to reality TV. He remarked, 'I don’t have a plan. I just let whatever genuinely is coming from my heart show.' He appreciates the spontaneous nature of reality television, likening it to volleyball's unpredictable gameplay.

He also conveyed satisfaction with 'Perfect Set' prioritizing athleticism over drama, saying, 'I like that the focus was athleticism, and the drama just backed it up.' Cohen acknowledged that while competition can lead to drama, he found the emphasis on performance refreshing.

Reflecting on misconceptions about beach volleyball, Cohen admitted he underestimated the sport's physicality. He noted that the competition became intense towards the show's conclusion, stating, 'I feel like I’m on a battlefield.' He recounted an incident where a teammate suffered an injury, which underscored the sport's competitive nature.

Cohen has cultivated a substantial social media following, attributing this connection to his authenticity. He explained, 'I’m pretty genuine with what I post... I think my fans found my personality to be really true and genuine.' He aims to share content that reflects his authentic life rather than a fabricated persona.

He expressed enthusiasm for the creator-driven platform OnlyFans, highlighting its ability for creators to showcase their unique styles. Cohen described it as a canvas for personal expression, likening it to the duality of Peter Parker and Spider-Man. He appreciates the opportunities provided by OFTV, which allows creators to explore their artistic boundaries.

Cohen identified OFTV as the most creatively fulfilling space for him, stating, 'It gives you the most liquid sense of creativity.' He believes the platform empowers social media influencers and OnlyFans stars to express themselves freely.

Discussing the challenges he faced while filming 'Perfect Set,' Cohen emphasized the importance of focusing on the competition despite external distractions. He acknowledged that he was dealing with personal issues during filming but aimed to maintain his concentration, remarking, 'You’ve got to focus so hard when you’re playing.'

He described a pivotal moment before the finals, where individual challenges revealed competitors' true motivations. Observing the dynamics among contestants, he noted, 'You saw everyone’s true colors coming out as far as what they were there for.' This moment highlighted the blend of competition and personal relationships.

Cohen shared his admiration for fellow contestant Alicia Waldner, who, despite not being the strongest player, maintained a positive attitude throughout the competition. He praised her resilience, stating, 'It’s hard to find that in somebody who’s going through a tough time.'

Looking ahead, Cohen hopes viewers will recognize his resilience and character in 'Perfect Set,' stating, 'I was really resilient during that episode... I felt like I portrayed that.' He aspires for the audience to see the strength he exhibited under pressure.
