Facebook has unveiled a new AI companion app aimed at supporting creators in growing their audiences, currently in testing with select users.
On Wednesday, Facebook announced its initiative to transform its Creator Studio tool into a standalone AI companion app. This app is designed specifically to assist creators in expanding their audiences on the platform.
Meta is focused on retaining creators' engagement with Facebook, especially as competition intensifies from platforms like TikTok and YouTube. The company aims to provide a solution that diminishes the reliance on third-party tools such as ChatGPT for content brainstorming and performance analysis.

Currently, the app is being tested with a select group of creators and will incorporate Facebook's newly launched AI creator assistant. This assistant is designed to offer personalized recommendations tailored to each creator's content style, audience engagement, performance metrics, and individual goals.
Typically, creators must navigate through complex charts and dashboards to evaluate their performance. However, with the AI assistant, they can receive prompt responses to queries such as "When is the best time to post?" and "What feedback are users providing in my comments?" The conversational nature of the AI also allows creators to ask follow-up questions regarding audience trends over time.

In addition to the AI assistant, the Creator Studio app will feature several new tools, including an AI-driven comment tool that highlights important comments and generates response drafts in the creator's unique voice. Creators will have the opportunity to edit and approve these suggested replies before they are published, as stated by Facebook.
Upon opening the app daily, creators will be greeted with a feed outlining their daily tasks, which include reviewing the performance of their latest posts, monitoring progress towards their goals, and identifying comments that require responses.
This announcement is part of a broader trend of app launches by Meta. Last month, a standalone app for Facebook Groups named Forum was introduced, which operates similarly to Reddit. In April, the company released another app, Instants, allowing users to share temporary photos with friends on Instagram.
The development of new apps is ongoing. The New York Times reported that Meta is currently working on an app similar to Polymarket, referred to internally as "Arena," although it has not yet launched.
The pace of these innovations appears intentional. According to a report by The Wall Street Journal in April, CEO Mark Zuckerberg informed employees that efficiencies driven by AI would facilitate the creation of more apps than the company has historically produced.
