Elena Moore's Cryptic Social Media Posts Raise Concerns Following Her Death
Elena Moore, a personal trainer from South Carolina, shared troubling messages about pain and heartache shortly before her death, prompting questions from friends and an ongoing investigation.
Elena Katherine Moore, a personal trainer from South Carolina, made several cryptic posts on social media regarding feelings of heartache and pain just weeks prior to her unexpected death. Those who knew her are now raising concerns about the circumstances surrounding her passing.
Moore utilized her second Instagram account to share emotional messages, including one from May in which she expressed that someone had allowed her to 'destroy' herself in order to maintain the relationship, leading to feelings of 'exhausting hatred.' She wrote about the painful experience of looking at someone she once loved with 'disgust and resentment.'
In a post from March, she shared a lengthy quote stating that 'the war is over,' and conveyed a sense of genuine happiness about someone being out of her life. She described a newfound freedom from the anxiety that had once weighed heavily on her, stating, 'Everything feels lighter, like a weight I carried for so long is finally gone.'
An earlier post from December 2025 touched on the theme of 'dehumanizing' heartbreak, further indicating her emotional struggles.
Mendy Miller, a friend from Moore's hometown of Lexington, expressed to TMZ that she was aware of Moore's commitment to a fitness and health journey, which included distancing herself from 'toxic' individuals, including some friends. Miller described Moore's disappearance as 'absolutely shocking,' noting that she was typically active on social media and would not have simply vanished.
The Lexington County Coroner's Office reported that there were no signs of trauma or external injuries on Moore's body, leading Miller to question the circumstances of her death. She stated, 'For her to just be found dead in the woods makes no sense ... anyone who knows her would see this. Someone had to have done something to her.'
Another friend previously mentioned that Moore had been acting 'paranoid' in the weeks leading up to her disappearance and expressed fear for her safety.
Moore was reported missing by her husband, Brannon Slice, on June 12. Five days later, law enforcement officials discovered her body in a wooded area. The investigation into her death is still ongoing.
