Cheryl's Son Bear Set to Inherit Liam Payne's $29 Million Fortune Following His Death
Liam Payne's estate will be inherited by his nine-year-old son Bear Grey Payne. The late singer's fortune will be placed in a trust until Bear turns 18 after Payne's tragic passing.
Liam Payne's estate is to be inherited by his nine-year-old son, Bear Grey Payne, whom he shares with his former partner, Cheryl, a member of the girl group Girls Aloud. This information comes from court documents following Payne's death after falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina. At the time of his passing, he did not have a will, resulting in his estimated $29 million fortune being transferred to Bear.

Richard Mark Bray, Liam's attorney, is one of the administrators of the estate alongside Cheryl. The funds will be secured in a trust until Bear reaches the age of 18, although some of the money will be accessible to him before that age.

Liam Payne welcomed Bear in 2017 during his relationship with Cheryl, which lasted for two years. At the time of Bear's birth, Liam expressed his joy on social media, stating, "I'm incredibly happy to welcome our new baby boy into the world. It's a moment that I will never forget for the rest of my life and my favorite memory I have so far." He also praised Cheryl, saying, "I'm completely in awe of his incredible mother, and how she has been the whole way through this; she's really made my dreams come true."
After their split in 2018, the couple remained dedicated to co-parenting Bear. Liam had previously shared with People magazine the challenges of adjusting to fatherhood at a young age, as he was only 23 when Bear was born. He reflected, "I had my son at a young age, and you think it will be a magical thing, that you're going to grow up one day into the person you're supposed to be. But it took a lot to find my footing. I figured, Dad takes care of everyone, that's what he does, so my thing was to cook."
Bear was just seven years old when Liam Payne passed away on October 16, 2024, after the tragic incident in Argentina.

In the aftermath of Liam's death, Cheryl took to social media to request compassion from users. She wrote on Instagram, "As I try to navigate this earth-shattering event, and work through my own grief at this indescribably painful time, I'd like to kindly remind everyone that we have lost a human being. Liam was not only a pop star and celebrity, he was a son, a brother, an uncle, a dear friend and a father to our seven-year-old son. A son that now has to face the reality of never seeing his father again."
